Elizabeth (Beth) Williams Schott is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, who received her BFA in Fine Arts and Education from Emory and Henry College in the arts-rich community of Abingdon, Virginia. While attending E&H she participated her sophomore and senior years in Rome, Italy studying Roman Art and Archaeology, in the January program.
Beth studied Appalachian crafts and pottery at Virginia Intermont. She attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati for sculpture, and completed her postgraduate work in Advertising Design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
She has continued her studies internationally with: Robert Liberace (Florida, Ireland), William Whitaker (Arizona), Marvin Mattelson (North Carolina), Joy Thomas (Ohio), Robert Howard (Massachusetts) and Tim Tyler (Indiana).
Beth is a juried member of the Pastel Society of America and the Cincinnati Art Club. She is also a member of the Portrait Society of America and A Stroke of Genius Portrait artist, and has appeared in "International Artist" magazines portrait showcase.
In 2005, she was honored to be chosen as one of the portrait artist to participate in the exhibit "Faces of the 'Fallen", in a tribute to fallen soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq.
She has also worked with the author, Jinny Berten as the illustrator on three of Ms. Berten’s books: “Littsie of Cincinnati”, which received an IPPY bronze award, “Jake and Sam at the Empty Abby”, a recipient of a silver medal, Moonbeams Children’s Book Awards, and “Littsie and the Underground Railroad”, a recipient of a bronze medal, Moonbeams Children’s Book Awards.
Beth is the owner/director of the East Side Center for the Arts located in the Village of Newtown, a special place for professionals, students and lovers of the creative arts. She maintains her personal studio at the Center, concentrating in oil and pastel portraiture; she is also accomplished in the art of pen and ink painting.
Beth has become a respected teacher of academic art for students of all ages and skill levels, she is known for her instruction within the Cincinnati area homeschool organizations.
Elizabeth is represented by "A Stroke of Genius" for portraiture.
She is also represented by "Details" in the Village of Newtown, OH.
